Learn a language from where you are

The word for it is all around you.

LensWords turns the things in front of you into vocabulary. Point the camera at an object, and it names what it sees in the language you're learning — with how to say it, and the word saved to your own list.

Why it sticks

Words hold on when they belong to something you can touch.

A flashcard asks you to remember a word in the abstract. LensWords starts from the opposite end — the real cup, the real door, the real tree in front of you — so the word arrives already attached to a thing you know.

From your own world

The vocabulary comes from your surroundings, not a textbook's list of someone else's things.

In the language you're learning

Each object is named in your target language, with pronunciation and a few lines to place it in use.

Yours to keep

Every capture collects into a running list of the words you actually met, day by day.

How it works

Point, and the room starts naming itself.

There is no deck to build and no lesson to start. A word is one short look: aim the camera, read the name, and move on to the next thing that catches your eye.

A real capture, aim to saved word

  1. 1 Aim it

    Point the camera

At anything nearby — a cup on the desk, a door, a leaf. Whatever's in reach is fair game.

  2. 2 Read it

    See the word

LensWords names the object in your target language, and shows how it's said out loud.

  3. 3 Keep it

    Save what you found

Each word joins your list, so the day's objects become the day's vocabulary.

Your word list

The words you learn are the ones you met.

Everything you capture collects into the objects you found that day — a list built entirely from your own surroundings.

Come back to it later and the words carry their moment with them: not a stranger's flashcard, but the cup you named this morning.
